As far as I know there is no update, but I also haven't tried playing superstar mode since. This is making the game mode not really fun after the first season. Have now played 3 seasons, and X factor ability appears in game. My theory is you have to earn a spot in the 50 xfactors players in the league.

I am not sure if this has been covered but I know some players have X factors but when you go into the game they are reverted back to superstars. The fix for this is to go into edit player and make there Dev trait normal, save then go back and put it back to X factor then save again.
